How does the Welsh Super Series work?
-
The 2026 Welsh Super Series consists of 6 races. Each athletes final score consists of the sum of their best performance 4 scores achieved across those 6 races. Athletes must complete a minimum of 3 races to be included in the final standings.
-
Scores from the final race of the Super Series will worth more by being multiplied by 1.5
-
The Welsh Super Series Standings includes overall standings as well as standings in each age-group.
-
From the 2026 season, Welsh Triathlon will be partnering with My Tri Ranking to score athlete performances at each race.
How will My Tri Ranking score performances?
-
With precise course distances, weather conditions and terrain all affecting finish times, no two races are the same. My Tri Ranking scoring accounts for these differences, enabling valid comparison between performances in different races on different days.
-
Using algorithms, after the race My Tri Ranking projects how fast the World Number 1 (for both Female and Open) would have completed the course in those exact conditions. This forecast can then be compared to actual finish times of those in the race to produce scores. For example - a score of 1,000 means an athlete performed at the level of the World Number 1, whereas a score of 700 means the athlete was 30% slower than the World Number 1 projection.
-
The points scoring system helps ensure that scores are dependant on the level of your performance and are not dependant on the level of who turned up on the day. This also makes it possible for athletes to reliable track their own performance trajectory as the season progresses.

-
The Welsh Club Super Series includes performances in the same 6 races as the individual Super Series.
-

-
For the club series, at each race, the winner of each age-group is awarded 1000 club points.
-
Athletes finishing second or below in their age-group recive club points based on the percentage difference between their time and the age-group winner's time. A time 5% slower than the AG winners time = 950 club points.
-
A clubs score at a given race is the sum of the FIVE highest club points achieved by athletes representing the club. With a maximum score of 5,000 if 5 athletes representing a club all won their respective age-groups.
-
The club series scoring rewards clubs who have a spread of talent across all age-groups and race categories.
